Revealing Jim Jordan’s Slim Legislative Legacy

Jim Jordan’s incredibly thin legislative track record is a sign that he is not fit for office. Despite being in the US House of Representatives for nearly a decade as of this writing, he has sponsored zero substantive legislative initiatives. His career thus far is mostly characterized by showboating through TV appearances and DMCA lawsuits against Twitter, rather than working for the good of the citizens he serves.

Jordan’s explosive bouts of grandstanding and his “America First” rhetoric can make him popular among the far right, but it’s not enough to directly benefit his constituents. His background in collegiate wrestling makes Jordan a dynamic speaker, but his actual accomplishments in Congress, or lack thereof, tell a different story. It is interesting that while the media portrays Jordan as a vocal force within the GOP caucus, he has been relatively ineffective in passing or blocking bipartisan bills in Congress.

His most noteworthy legislative project was an attempt to weaken the Affordable Care Act, as he was a vocal opponent of the program. Since then, he has mostly used his platform to defend President Trump and call for the repeal of the ACA. Unfortunately, his Congressional record detracts from his otherwise impressive resume, demonstrating a lack of commitment to problem solving or policy-making on Capitol Hill.

It is highly controversial for a member of Congress to have such a limited legislative record, and it should be noted that many dedicated representatives have sponsored and managed multiple bills over the course of their terms in office. Ultimately, Jim Jordan’s tenure in the House is a testament to his refusal or inability to rise to any meaningful occasion in Congress. As such, it is doubtful that a man characterized by such a shallow record of service can lead on the national and international stages.
